KDE
To use the latest KDE, I re-installed Fedora Core 2 into my spare HDD, which was used to test mandrake10 and SuSE9.1 As you now see, at the present, I can't input Japanese.
After editing /etc/yum.conf, updated some security related files and added xmms-mp3 and now add FireFox 0.8, so getting much better. Opera? No Japanese input environment cannot live so long.
KDE menu cannot accept new entry, so I made shortcut icon on desktop to start FireFox. GDM always start Gnome and cannot find change desktop utils. Besides those minor but irritating issues, everything works flowly.
今日のまとめ
CD を入れて linux reiserfs と打ち込み、後はアナコンダにお任せ。以上。
インストール終了後、一番最初にした事。不要なサービスの停止。これはいつもの事だし OS 自体の再起動時に IIIMF やら何やらは起動している。次にした事。素のままで yum update、続いて KDE 3.2.3 へ Official ftp の rpm から更新。続いて上記のようにレポジトリに追記をしてから kernel や xorg まわりの更新。なぜだか mplayer が yum から入らなくなっているのはライセンスの縛りが厳しくなったからか。
てなところで Main 機の Fedora はしばらく 1 のまま行くか。2 や最新を追うのは、今日入れた Removable HDD の方に任せましょ。
