Ironical fact

For at least beginner like me, fresh Linux with graphical desk top, X, everything is light and fast, just like fresh Windows OS. Opera, OpenOffice.org and KDE itself start fast.
My Windows 2000 on hda1, one and half years old, still light, fast and solid as stone. We, amateur beginners, have to use stable rpms and if it is possible, never install extra applications, this is a simple fact both on Windows and Linux.
