謎の Opera Widget

Widgets Support in Opera 9? に書かれているように、Firefox の拡張のようなものが Opera 9 に用意されるかも知れないという観測がある。単に Opera Platform 上の事を言っているだけかも知れない。
詳細は全く不明。

the company says the final version will include support for widgets, small external programs that use Opera's engine and can run on the desktop. Existing widgets for other programs can display the weather, show Webcams, and much more. Users will also be able to choose which Web sites can run JavaScript or display images.

ネタ元を読むと、何やら拡張のようにも思えるが開発者達も初耳だというので、PCWorld が Opera Platform を誤解している可能性があるという事。
