やっと Google も対応

Opera Watch の Google now compresses pages for Opera as well から。
Google はこれまで他のブラウザへは圧縮したファイルを送って寄越していたが、Opera へは非圧縮形式でデータを送っていた。これが Opera を遅くする原因だと forum で話題が出ていた。- Opera Denied Gzip - What to do?
その Google がこのたびようやく Opera に対応してくれた。

Previously Google was sending text/html to Opera, while sending GZIP'ed content to the other browsers, such as IE and Firefox. This gave the impression that Opera was slower.

Nontroppo の GZip Discrimination Test で確認する事が出来る。

• amazon.com で試すと、No Compression! Content size: unknown と Opera だけ差別されているのが分かる。また ebay.com だと id as Opera では非圧縮だが、id as IE だと Compressed! となる。
