FirefoxIE

FirefoxIE とは Firefox の外観を Internet Explorer に似せようとするだけなのかと思ったが、それは 0.9 とか 1.0 の話で、最新の eFox は A Better Firefox と名乗り、外観が IE 7 風であるだけでなく Firefox より安定している独自版を配布しているそうだ。
About によると、これまで 5 万件のダウンロードがあったが、極めて安定しているのでサポートを求めるメールは 3 通しか来なかったとしている。

Efox is an alternative browser that builds on existing Firefox code, with one significant difference. Thanks to a major breakthrough, the eFox Web Browser is now more stable than Firefox itself for video and other multimedia.

"Having your browser "crash" or having to restart your browser is so common, that most users probably just accept it as a normal part of surfing the Internet. It is definitely not normal," says Dan McTaggart of FirefoxIE.net.

With this new version of eFox, it is possible you may never see this pop up window again or it will be extremely rare.

ソースの配布はどうしているのだとか、そういうのが気になる人もあるだろう。さて、どのようなものなのでしょう。少なくとも FirefoxIE より eFox の方が日本語としては語呂が良い。
