.mobi is a top-level domain approved by ICANN as a sponsored TLD. It will be restricted to mobile devices and sites providing services for them.

携帯端末向けにサイズを縮小したサービスを提供しようという動きに対して、テッちゃんが「全く時間の無駄」、「完全に不必要」と断じ切ったという記事。

"There should be one Internet," he says. "What if you're using another device? Should we have .gameconsole? .car? .fridge? .plane? We don't need .mobi at all."

この記事自体は、なかなか面白い書き方をしている。テッちゃんの発言を引いた後、「この男は誰だ」、「.mobi って何だ」で始まり、「Opera を最近使ったか？そんな人居る？」としつつも、Opera は多くの携帯電話に最初から入っていて、その会社のテッちゃんの言う事はもっともだと、最後はマトモにまとめている。
