Wii の Opera も Beta かららしい

Nintendo UK has confirmed that the Opera browser will be coming to Wii’s all over the continent on December the 22nd. The forecast channel just launched so it seems Nintendo is keen to give everyone a very merry Christmas.

デスクトップでは珍しくはないが、Nintendo Wii に提供される Opera は当初 Beta としてヨーロッパでは 22 日から公開されるそうだ。Final は来年 3 月を予定している。
Beta 段階の製品をゲーム機で公開するなんて、いろいろな事情があったのでしょう。来年夏前まで無料で配るのも、Beta を使わせてしまうお詫びと考えれば安くはない。

Opera 社から Wii, will be available on December 22, 2006 というプレスリリースが出ていた。文中には任天堂ヨーロッパによるプレスリリースへのリンクもある。

On Dec. 22, Nintendo and Opera Software bring the Internet to the living room couch with a free trial version of the Opera Web browser.

• ベータと呼ばずトライアル・バージョンと言うらしい。
• UI が何語なのか不明。
• ヨーロッパだけでなく、nintendo.dom にも同じ文章。
